It was supposed to be promising not only that but even more than promising.....
Though there were lots of predication about the date of release, feature of the phone, the design and bla bla...... there were were lots of videos on youtube and images on the web that the phone would look like this and there were specifications floating like it will allow bluetooth file transfers it will have secondary camera for video calling and multitasking, flash support and many more.
Tough some of them proved to be correct and some did not even were close to it.
Then came the bar scenario every one might be aware of but still just let me give you a gist of it,
an apple engineer forgot his phone at a bar named gourmet haus staudt, redwood city california. It was a prototype.
I HAVE A QUESTION TO ASK ?
Was the phone seriously lost? or Was purposely left behind as a marketing gimmick?
This could only be answered by steve jobs, which we no he will never do it, so lets move further.
This was the time when the design of the iphone4 came out initially was known to public.
In the mean time the the WWDC date was out and as soon as the dates were out it was confirmed that the new iphone will be showcased with its new iosx 4 .
All the apple fan waited for the day 7 june 2010. It was a big day for apple and its fans ,everyone who followed or even knew apple were sure something big is due all were in anticipation that apple will bring another revolution in the mobile world and happened the same way.
On 7 june 2010 apple showed its new iphone to the world ans guess what? The phone looked the same one witch was found in the bar.

1- Multitasking (A full fledge multitasking rather than LIMITED apps working in the background) which is not multitasking.

3- Video calling via cell network rather than wi-fi.
4- Bluetooth data transfer.
5- Mini sim and not micro sim.
6- A good loudspeaker.
24JUNE was the day apple would remember.
this was the day when iphone was released to public, and as usual, like other iphone it was a sold out product but this time it was history for apple because they sold 1.7 millions phone in first three days, highest sales of any product in the history of apple on its launch.
The phone was not of the same design as iphone 3g and 3gs, the design was all together new and it had something very unique design which look very stylish.
The box of the phone included the same stuff which the older iphones included there was no change made there.
As the phone was with public it got all the praises in the world and so should it get, apple created something amazing, the phone looked stunning its features were wowwwwwoooooo.....
The display which is called the retina display is one of its kind, it is crystal clear.It has 960 x 640 resolution in 3.5mm screen which credit goes to apple.
The display offers 326dpi which is more than what a human eye can distinguish if u hold the phone 10 to 12 inches from the eye , a normal human eye recognize 300dpi.
The music of the phone was exceptional as usual (in earphones ).
The phone has a huge app store to download app which adds to the features of the phone.
All the sites which review the phone said "you will find it difficult to grip if u have used any other previous iphones because the previous iphones had curves on the back and this doesn't has the curves which i don't find it true at all because i didn't had any problem holding the phone.
BUT this phone bought apple in some problem, few days after the phone was released it was discovered that phone has a reception issue.
If the user hold the bottom left of the phone or even if any part of the skin touches the bottom left the network of the phone gradually declines to zero, which i find it very annoying , when u come up with such a wonderful product and then this stupid issue ruins the phone. This had led to call drops and reduced data rates because the signal would eventually drop to zero.
To tackle this problem apple came up with a add "you are holding it the wrong way" and said it happened with all the phones if u touch the antenna of the phone which frustrated me a lot.
How silly comment that was ? by apple. why cant they accept that there is a design flaw in the phone.
This issue of the phone has hurted apple which they wont realise it now.
But this issue was taking a tole on the consumers so to avoid this apple came up with something more to fool its consumers was the 'IPHONE 4 SIGNAL BAR MISLEADING, AND ITS HIDDING POOR SIGNALS"
Now what in the world do u mean by this ?and how can a mis leading signal bars could drop calls, i am sorry to say this but i was not able to understand this point by apple at all.
Now that they have problems in hand why are they hiding it why don't the just come up and say look this what mistakes we have done and we are trying to resolve it. What dose it takes ?
Apple said it will come out with a firmware update soon to fix this issue, if it is a firmware fault what were the R&D team of apple did since last one year? wasn't the phone and the firmware tested before the release. What were the technical department doing while testing the phone.
Apple new it will at least sell a million phones if not more in its first weak didn't it cared for those millions of customers who leave every thing and Qup just take an apple product.
How could their technical team couldn't figure out such an issue which a common man was able to?
Or is it that apple knew there is a fault in the phone nd it still went with the release as it feared the google android and its growing popularity among the apple fans?
what ever the case be this mistake will hurt apples reputation in future.
BUT TO BE TRUE THE PHONE IS ONE OF ITS KIND.
WHATEVER PRODUCT APPLE COMES WITH IT NEVER IS IN BETWEEN EITHER ITS LOVED OR HATED TO THE CORE.
